Join Durham Region Roller Derby for our first Annual Outdoor Classic Scrimmage on Saturday, September 20th!
DRRD is going to close out the season with a fantastic fun-filled black and white scrimmage at Peel Park in Whitby.
Wheels roll at 2:30pm for warm up and first whistle is 3:00pm.
As always we would love to have referees and NSO’s join us for the fun.
- $25 entry fee includes a black or white commemorative tank and post scrimmage BBQ!
All proceeds from this event will help to support the Charles H Best Diabetes Centre through DRRD’s own ‘Betty Speed’s’ Team Taylan.
About Team Taylan:
Team Taylan walks for the Charles H Best Centre!
This year Taylan was diagnosed with T1D which was the start of one of the hardest times in our lives. Within hours of diagnosis, the people of the Charles Best Diabetes Centre were there teaching us all we needed to know to keep Taylan alive and healthy. From learning how to check blood sugars to carb counting and calculating and administering insulin dosages, the Best Centre has been with us every step of the way. It’s our turn to give back by joining the centre’s 5k walk-a-thon on Sept 21.
As written by Taylan’s Mom, DRRD skater Betty ForgetaBOUTit!
We hope you can join us to help this cause that is so close to our hearts and play some awesome roller derby!!
